Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg cauliflower
  • 2 cup breadcrumbs grated
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • olive oil for frying

Method of execution

To prepare the delicious fried cauliflower recipe, follow these steps: After removing the excess leaves and stalk from the cauliflower, cut it into medium sized pieces. Boil them in a pot of water for about 4-5 minutes to soften them slightly. After draining them well, toss the cauliflower sections with salt and freshly ground pepper for extra flavor. In a deep bowl, vigorously beat an egg, adding a little water to create a smooth cream. If you wish to add cheese, stir it into the breadcrumbs. Dip each piece of cauliflower first in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs, making sure that it is evenly coated on all sides. Heat a sufficient amount of olive oil in a frying pan over a high heat. When hot, add the breaded pieces of cauliflower. Fry until they take a golden colour all around. When ready, place them on a plate covered with paper towels to remove excess oil. At the end, optionally, you can sprinkle 2 tablespoons of headcheese on top to serve. Serve warm and enjoy!
